Attendance
At Olympus Academy Trust we are passionate about attendance because being in school regularly really does matter!
Building habits of regular attendance ensures that your child enjoys all of the many benefits that school brings, such as, opportunities for learning and making progress, as well as wider personal development opportunities like enjoying different enrichment clubs and sports or creative clubs.
Making connections everyday with other children and staff also builds belonging, which we believe is an essential component of a healthy, happy child.
We are delighted to be involved in the Olympus Academy Trust’s attendance campaign “In School Together” which takes place throughout June 2023.
We will be in touch soon with all of our parents and carers with further details about what we have planned with staff , learners and parents. Don’t miss your invitation to our Parent Carer Attendance Café !
If you don’t follow us already on social media , please add us to your profile as this is where we will posting information about the campaign as well.
Where any parent or carer has concerns about their child’s attendance, we really want to hear from you so that we can work together to reduce absence from school. We know that for some children, returning to school and the routine of learning has been more difficult- please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
At Callicroft Primary Academy we:
- encourage good attendance and discourage lateness.
- monitor patterns of absence and take actions to seek improvement if appropriate.
- identify unauthorised absence and take appropriate action.
- establish a common school procedure for filling in registers.
- differentiate between authorised and unauthorised absence
We accept our role in partnership with parents/carers.
Parents/carers have a legal responsibility to ensure regular attendance and punctual arrival in the morning and collection at the end of the school day.
The School's responsibility is to support attendance and examine problems that may lead to non-attendance. To do this we keep a register of attendance at the start of every morning and afternoon session.
Parents are expected to call the absence line 01454 867198 before registration if a child will not be attending school that day, stating the reason for absence.
Medical evidence may be required in the form of an appointment card or prescription.
